July 2nd, 2008 - Faneuil Hall, Earthfest Interview
(Entry by Scott)

Hello to everyone...here are a couple quick things I thought you all might enjoy.

1) OurStage did some post performance interviews at Earthfest and compiled them into the video below:

2) Bob and I made a new friend the other night at Faneuil Hall, and he was kind enough to make a sketch of us in action.  Many thanks to Dale for the first ever Cahill Caricature:

That's it...have a great holiday weekend.

What a weekend!
(Entry by Bob)

The clock is just about to turn and our holiday weekend will be over. . . what a weekend it was.

First off, I had a birthday.  Normally I wouldn't mention it, but I was given a surprise birthday party.  It truly was a surprise.  I thought I was going one place, next thing I know I'm being blindfolded and brought somewhere completely different.  Here's my reaction...

That started off the weekend, then we had the pleasure of playing at Earthfest.  This was an absolute blast.  Thousands of people, great sound system, beautiful day, and the introduction of our guitar player, Brian Packer . . here's a highlight of "What You Mean To Me."

After our performance, we got invited to the 92.9 After Party.  We hung out with the members of the band Cake.  The biggest high light was hearing Scott talk to the trumpet player about Netflicks.  Scott had had a few and the Cake guy was on something so it was an interesting conversation.  Scott also had this woman convinced that his name was Thomas H. Shell. . . the "H" standing for "Hatch."

Oh, and Max drank gin.

It would've been a great finish to a perfect weekend HOWEVER, on the way to Faneuil Hall tonight, our Cahill Mobile died in the middle of Atlantic Avenue in Boston and had to be towed home by Erv.  Erv was a talented tow man who also had a knack for messing with Scotty and convincing him that Triple A wasn't going to cover the tow.  Thanks Erv.

Some information Bob forgot to mention.
(Entry by Scott  **Amended by Bob)

I was just reading Bob's journal entry from the 14th, and realized he had brought Wii Golf Records into the conversation.  Here is some key information that has changed since his entry.

1) Bob's best score is now (-7) ;  not bad.
2) Brian's best score is (-8) ; a little better.

...but most importantly...

3) My best score is (-9) ; I HOLD THE HOUSEHOLD RECORD.

That is all,

~ Scott

**Hey Scott...thanks for doing a journal entry in the last 3 months - bob

If you haven't yet played the Wii, you must get on that.  I just broke my all-time best for 9 holes in Wii Golf: 5 under par...not bad.  My roommate Brian got 7 under par.  Watch your back B-Money, I'm coming after you.  Here's a video blog for your viewing pleasure:

As mentioned in the most fantastic Cahill Video Blog, here's a link to purchasing tickets for our show on June 20th at the Paradise.

th, 2008 - D - O - double G
(Entry by Bob)

As promised, here are some video highlights from our recent takeover of the East Coast.  I also threw some pictures from the trip up as well.  In the previous journal I mentioned a story about a dog.  The dog's name is "Hiro" and she's a Yorkie.  It's hard to believe, but Scott O'Brien is the proud owner of a dog.  I'm not one for pets, but the thing is freakin' adorable.  I think the video will say it all...

Here's the link to the pics...

April 4th, 2008 - What's in store?
(Entry by Bob)

I'm sitting in New York City having just finished up a mini takeover of the upper East Coast.  Scotty and I had a handful of great shows, met some wonderful people, and saw about as much of New York and New Jersey that any Bostonian can take.  Just a few days left before we'll be back and gearing up for Faneuil Hall.  I honestly can't tell you enough how much I'm looking forward to the start of spring, summer, warm weather, and thousands of people stopping by to listen to music and say hello.  Last summer included a visit from the legendary James Taylor - which I'm now realizing I never made a journal entry about...

Long story short...

Finishing up a set at the Marketplace, packing up all our gear, not really paying too much attention.  An older gentleman comes up and says, "I was listening to your stuff - sounds great.  You wouldn't happen to have a card or something would you?"  Scotty offers him one of our postcards and says thanks for listening, I glance up quickly to acknowledge the man for stopping by to say hello.  Suddenly I find myself staring a little harder trying to place this man's face.  He begins to walk away when it hits me.

"HOLD ON A SEC," I cried, "Aren't you?"

"Yes, I'm James Taylor."

JAMES TAYLOR!!!!!  MR TAYLOR!!!!!  One of the greatest singer-songwriters in music history stopped by to say hello and ask for a card.  Needless to say, I was shocked but still managed to carry on a decent conversation, gave him a CD, got his autograph, and wrapped it up with..."Hope to see you again soon."

Ah Faneuil Hall...I wonder what's in store this summer?

Anyway, we'll be home soon and we'll have videos, pictures, and a story about a dog...

Check back soon.  Enjoy your weekend : )

I just finished editing our footage of NACA Nationals.  It took me forever because my computer was acting up, so I hope at least some part of it puts a smile on your face.  Did you get your tickets to the March 14th show at the Paradise Lounge?  It's a Friday night which means it should make for a very fun evening...

Here is the video blog:

St Louis, NACA Nationals
(Entry by Bob)

St. Louis:  The Gateway City, The Arch, The Mississippi River, The Cardinals (circa 2004), The Rams (circa 2001), and NACA Nationals.  We're here in the middle of it all and besides a few small set backs - guitar not making it with my flight, the venue that we showcased at not having enough inputs for our instruments, the weather (FREEZING, and I'm from New England) - it's been great.  We played our showcase to a packed house and it felt great.  When we were done, we made our way to our booth and were greeted by students from all over the country.  So hopefully some connections were made and we'll be traveling even further throughout the US.  As usual, we have videos and pictures that we'll post once we make our way back home.  In the meantime, we'll be enjoying some more sights in St. Louis - including a Casino...good luck Scotty.

Scotty Gump
(Entry by Bob)

Happy hump day.  In honor of this great day known as hump day, we thought we should make it a "Gump" day.  Below is Cahill's first attempt at a major motion picture.  Granted it's rather short and it's a reenactment, but I still think it's Oscar worthy.  As you know, we just returned from a tour through Ohio, Kentucky, and Washington D.C.  Being at our nation's capital, the only thing we thought to do is the one thing that everyone else probably does while on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.....do a scene from "Forrest Gump."  Enjoy.

Being in D.C. has also allowed us to begin what we are calling the Cahill "in-front-of" Series.  Whenever we're in or around famous landmarks we'll take pictures of the band in front of said places.  Below is Part One of our series.

That's all for today.  Best of luck getting over the hump : )

Looking back.
(Entry by Bob)

It's a snowy evening here in the Cahill apartment.  We're gearing up for our week long trek to Ohio, Kentucky, D.C. and back.  We'll try our best to get some video blogs up.  In the meantime, I was just looking through a Christmas present I got from our dear friend Amy (Our bass player Steve's girlfriend).  Not only is she smart, sweet, and a hell of a pie maker, she can also take some great pictures.  Here are a bunch of shots from our residency at Faneuil Hall and from our handful of shows we had at the Paradise Lounge.  Just click the pic below and you'll find a bunch of new albums on our phanfare sight.

Enjoy your week and we'll see you soon!

January 7
th, 2008- Rugby anyone?
(Entry by Scott)

I have had the laziest holiday season of my entire life, yet somehow avoided putting up a journal entry this entire time.  My apologies!  It's nice to start getting back into the swing of things...here is what is happening at the moment:

Per the above journal, check out our presence on the new Ralph Lauren site www.rugby.com.  We are a part of the soundtrack for the Boston promo video currently featured on the main page.  If you can't find the video, you can see it directly by going here.  I'll try to get a copy of the video to post directly on this page.

In the meantime, Bob and I will be sorting through piles and piles of free designer clothing...
