One of our facebook fans, Ryan DeCosta, asked us to cover a System of a Down song called “Revenga”. Well, Bob and I never pass up a challenge…even if it is a wild departure from our given genre.
Here is our attempt:
And if you want to see the real thing for a reference point, here is that too:
Our last podcast of 2010 has been posted! Our friends (and fellow Faneuil Hall musicians) Paul and Tim of “Tall Heights” stopped by to discuss life, death, music, and other weighty subject matter.
They also perform a stunning version of a new song called “Rafters”, which I have been humming over and over in my head since editing the podcast.
When Bob told me we got another royalty check in the mail from our MTV spot on “The Real World” last year, I got very excited. Then I saw how much is was for…I promise we won’t spend it all in one place!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always watched Scotty run and would say to myself…why? Why in God’s name would you do that? It’s not fun. In fact, it’s miserable.
Well, last month my sister Karyn told me that she was running a 5k to support ALS research. The disease hits close to home for me because my Father’s best friend and a man who was like a second Father to me (Franny D) died of ALS. Knowing she’s not really a “runner” gave me the drive to try it out myself.
And I did.
In fact, when I told Scott I was doing it, he decided to join in too.
The Cahill performance on October 24th replaced guitars and amps with Gatorade and running shoes.
Scott came in 12th place which is pretty impressive. Seeing as it was my first race, I was pushing for a finish time between 24 – 25 minutes.
No problem. How’s 23:40?
I know, I know, it’s only a 3 mile run. It was quite an experience though and I did it all for Franny D.
