Thank You Ori

We received an email a couple weeks ago that I’ve been meaning to post up here. It was from a Cahill fan named Ori who had a pretty funny story to share. With his permission, I’ve attached the content of his email below:

Guys I am truly obsessed with your music. I had found your music about a year ago
and immediately enjoyed it. lt really came from the heart. Anyway about a month
after discovering your music or so I was at the Quincy market in boston. Out of
nowhere I heard “Hard to miss” (my favorite song). the first thought that came to my
head was: how cool someone is covering cahill. As I continued to listen and watch I
felt as if I had seen you two before (album cover) and also the really good “cover
band” kept covering your band. It took me a good 10 minutes to understand the cover
band was CAHILL! I was shocked. Imagine all of a sudden being able to meet someone
you thought was really really famous. I am amazed you don’t perform at the superbowl
or aren’t on the top 10 songs on itunes. I am writing you this to wish you the best
of luck and a good future. Stay true to to the music.

Every time I read that, it puts a really big smile on face…particularly, the “amazed we didn’t perform at the superbowl” line.

Anyway, thank you Ori. While Bob has been out of town, I have engrossed myself in a variety of non-music ventures, and this was the much needed (and welcomed) kick-in-the-ass to get back on track and get my creative juices flowing again.

The new EP is almost finished.

I am starting to piece together what will become the new Cahill studio.

We are going to track a new live album this year.

We are going to start recording a second EP in the late spring.

And we are going to have another acoustic release similar to “The Basement Sessions” (see the music page) that will have a collection of tracks not necessarily built for commercial appeal – later this year.

My lips to god, 2010 will have more new music from Cahill than you will know what to do with.
