Videos from first Showcase

// July 18th, 2010 // No Comments » // Blog

Hey all,

Granted, there are a little late, but YouTube was being fussy and I couldn’t get them upload. The quality of the second video is quite lousy, I think it is almost time for a new camera…

SOUNDS OF SUMMER…success

// July 15th, 2010 // No Comments » // Blog

Tonight was good…real good.

We’ve been playing Faneuil Hall for so long now, it’s been awhile since I’ve gone in not knowing what to expect.

We took part in their Sounds of Summer series in which we got to do our Faneuil Hall thing at the main entrance to Quincy Market on the West End – the biggest area that the market has to offer.

It truly was a fantastic evening. Normally we have to be aware of how loud we’re being and how much of a crowd we’re attracting. With this Thursday night series, they give us free reign to be as loud and as big as we’d like.

Scotty took some video which I’m sure he will post soon. I don’t have pictures, so all I can do is say that we had a blast and can’t wait for the next one. If you’re around when we do it again, you should definitely come out!

Anyway, I’m off to bed. Thanks to Faneuil Hall, the crowds of people who joined us, and to you for taking the time to read our thoughts.

ciao.

Sounds of Summer

// July 13th, 2010 // No Comments » // Blog

Hey all,

Just wanted to do my blog duty and let you all know that there is a new feature this season in Faneuil Hall..It’s called “Sounds of Summer”, and is a music-only showcase on Thursday nights at the West End (i.e. right in front of the main entrance to Quincy Market).

This thursday will be our inaugural performance from 8:30 – 9:30, with three other acts playing before us.

Hope to see you there!

Gotta Love The Theater

// July 11th, 2010 // No Comments » // Blog

And we’re back.

In case you’ve missed it, I didn’t do my last entry in time, but then Scott went on vacation and I gave him the week off, thus eliminating my punishment of push-ups.

Well, as stated earlier, we’re back, here’s my blog, and Scott has two days to respond…

During the last week, instead of Faneuil Hall, I spent my evenings taking in some local theater. Two shows actually – “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Cherry Smoke.”

“Cherry Smoke” is playing at the Boston Playwrights Theater on Commonwealth Ave. A friend of mine directed it and the play is fantastic. What’s equally fantastic is that he uses our song “Until Then” during a scene transition. I must say it was quite the odd experience to be sitting in a theater full of people listening to myself blasted over a sound system. I probably shouldn’t of shouted outloud during the performance…

“WOW, WHAT A GREAT SONG! WHAT BAND IS THIS?”

The second show was the famous musical, “Little Shop of Horrors.” I’m sure you all know it from the also famous movie starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin. Anyway, it was performed by The Next Door Theater Co, the same space Cahill played last March.

It’s also the place where yours truly is going to be losing the guitar and picking up a dog bone to play SNOOPY in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.” The show is playing 3 more times this summer,

July 21st
August 11th
Sept 1st

If you want to see a real fun show AND see me bark & howl, order your tickets HERE.

Alright, that’s it…good luck Scotty.

Happy 4th

// July 3rd, 2010 // No Comments » // Blog

Vacations are wonderful.

Relaxing.

Calming.

Easy going.

Let’s be honest, being on vacation makes it almost impossible to want to find a computer and blog.

Scott’s on vacation for the next week and I missed my deadline on Thursday.

Scotty…? No push-ups for me if I give you the week off?

I think it’s fair

We’ll see.

Rules of Engagement

// June 23rd, 2010 // No Comments » // Blog

The battle has started and we’re already being lenient with each other. Scott missed his first one and I missed my first one. I guess they cancel each other out.

Problem is, Scotty and I haven’t ironed out the official details for Round 2.

Well, since we have to write all the time now, why not start a conversation…

Scotty? What do you think the new guidelines should be? Stay the same? Change em up? Raise the stakes?

Let’s get some dialogue going here…

What do you think?

Tracking Some Acoustics

Hey all,

After an awesome set in Faneuil Hall on Friday, Bob and I headed back to my apartment to work on some acoustic recordings that will hopefully see the light of day very soon.

Battle of the Blogs

// June 17th, 2010 // No Comments » // Blog

Hello, it’s Bob here.

I just watched the Boston Celtics lose to the LA Lakers in Game 7. Yes, I’m a Celtics fan and yes, it was very disappointing. It did however, get me motivated to begin another round of blog wars with Mr Scotty O’Brien. Although they just lost, I’ll be representing Green while Scott has been given the much hated Purple & Gold.

For those of you who kept track of our last battle, you know that I was victorious and Scott had to perform 4 push-up videos. Well, we’re at it again. According to the rules, Scott will have 2 days to post a blog or else will suffer a penalty.

Should we do push-ups again? I don’t know. Thoughts?

Scotty? Any ideas?

In the meantime, the battle has started and the clock starts ticking. We have a lot of stuff planned for the summer so we should have plenty to blog about.

In closing, I do want it to be known that I think the Celtics did a hell of a job and fought as hard as they could…I also HATE the Lakers.

LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!
